We love his photos so thought we would get to know him a bit more – thank you so much for featuring Kevin.
How long have you been a wedding photographer for?
I have been shooting weddings since 2007. Starting out in newspaper photography, I continually use the skills I learnt during that time in my approach to wedding photography. News work is always extremely fast paced so you need to be ready. Just like at wedding ready to always catch that fleeting moment, a smile, embrace or hug between relatives!
What’s been your favourite wedding to photograph?
It is hard to choose one wedding in particular as for me it is purely about how the couple and their guests interact. How much love and fun there is on the day. The more of those elements always makes for the best photographs regardless of the venue.
Do you include a pre-wedding or engagement shoot in your packages?
I include an engagement shoot with all my packages bar my ‘Ceremony only’ package.
What advice would you give couples when choosing a wedding photographer?
My advice would be to always go with the photographer whose style and personality you connect with the most. If you are relaxed and feel good about your photographer it will help to produce the best possible photographs on the day.Try not to base your choice solely on price. Of course budget is a consideration but remember once the day is over, the cake is cut and the guests have long departed, your wedding photos and the memories they evoke will remain for you to love and cherish for years to come!
If you could photograph a dream wedding, what would it look like?
Hmm, that is a tough one! I love the USA, and on my own honeymoon as part of the trip we visited Yosemite National Park in California, and I reckon shooting a wedding there amongst the waterfalls, mountains and grizzly bears would be pretty cool!
What do you like to do when you aren’t photographing weddings?
When I am not shooting weddings I spend most of my time looking after my sons, Zach and Heath. When I do get some rare child free time I enjoy sports, cinema, and reading.
What’s the best way for couples to get in contact with you?
I always like to meet up with couples face to face. To arrange a chat over a tea or coffee (or wine or beer, I’m not fussy!) call 07990 710101, email me at [email protected], tweet me @kevinlinesphoto or lastly visit my website www.kevinlines.co.uk and use the contact me page.
