We were introduced to Nicki from FJS Photography at one of the local Engage Weddings networking events. It’s always great meeting other like minded wedding suppliers and we love Nicki’s passion for beautiful wedding photography.
How long have you been a wedding photographer for?
I’m just finishing my fourth year of wedding photography.
What’s been your favourite wedding to photograph?
Gosh I don’t think I could pick a favourite! There’s been elements of weddings which have really had an impact on me, but each and every wedding is so individual and so personal, it would be impossible for me to pick a favourite!
What’s a fun fact about you that not many people know?
A fact about me that not many people know is that before I was a wedding photographer I was an intensive care nurse!
What advice would you give couples when choosing a wedding photographer?
My advice when choosing a wedding photographer is make sure it’s someone you have a connection with and don’t feel awkward around. If you feel awkward around your wedding photographer, it will really show in your photos! Also, make sure you see a full wedding gallery or album covering all aspects of the day to make sure they’re experienced and you like their style of the whole day.
If you could photograph a dream wedding, what would it look like?
I adore dreamy, romantic blush pinks, foliage and gold tones. I love really foliage dense tables, with lots of floristry going on with a wild feel to it. If it’s elegant, refined and beautiful, I’ll be in heaven. But also, the most important thing to me, beyond what it looks like, is the couples connection. I love seeing couples in love, and that give you something in your photos that no amount of flowers and foliage can give.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
In my spare time I love to spend time with my two boys, going for walks in the woods, picnics and travelling abroad. I love to travel and try to go on holiday twice a year!
What’s the best way for couples to get in contact with you at FJS Photography?
Couples can get in touch with me either via the contact form on my website, via email or social media. Of course you can phone me too! I love to meet with couples to talk everything over with them, so will try to arrange to meet them for coffee and talk all things weddings.
